EU adopts sanctions package following Russia’s recognition of Donetsk and Luhansk

The Council adopted a new package of sanctions to respond to the illegal recognition by Russia of the non-government controlled areas of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts of Ukraine as independent entities, and the ensuing decision to send Russian troops into these areas.
