EU Military Committee: General Robert Brieger visited Tallinn, Estonia

On 1 December, General Robert Brieger, Chairman of the European Union Military Committee (CEUMC), made an official visit to Estonia.

He met with Estonian defence leaders and representatives from the Estonian Defence Forces, the Ministry of Defence and the Defence League, as well as from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Defence Committee of the Estonian Parliament (Riigikogu).

General Brieger said: “My visit to Tallin is an opportunity to send out the message that the Allies are united in opposing unjustified aggression against Ukraine and that Europe's eastern flank deserves and receives the highest attention. I want to thank the Estonian government and the Estonian Defence Forces for all the commitment and dedication shown towards Ukraine.”

During his two-day visit, the EU's highest military representative was briefed on the security situation in the region and the training of Ukrainian soldiers in Estonia.

In addition, General Brieger visited the international Cyber Coalition exercise in Tallinn and familiarised himself with the work of MILREM Robotics.

Topics of national defence of Estonia and the general security situation were discussed with the Estonian Minister of Defense, the Chief of Defense Forces and the Commander of the Defense League.
