On 29 August, High Representative Josep Borrell will chair the second Ministerial Board meeting of the EU’s Satellite Centre (SatCen) at the Torrejón Military Base in Madrid. The Board meeting takes place back to back with the informal meetings of EU Defence and Foreign Ministers on 30 and 31 August in Toledo.

During the SatCen Board meeting, EU Defence Ministers will discuss the role, activities, services and main achievements of SatCen over the past 30 years, as well as provide political guidance on the Centre’s role in helping the EU address new and emerging international security challenges.

The High Representative and the Spanish Minister of Defence, Margarita Robles, will deliver remarks to the press at the end of the meeting at the SatCen premises. Media will be able to cover the press statements as well as the public part of the plenary at the end of the ministerial meeting and the family photo of Ministers and delegates.
