European Union Military Committee Away Days in Warsaw

The Military Representatives of twenty-seven Member States met in Warsaw in March.

The Military Representatives of twenty-seven Member States met in Warsaw on 11 March as part of the European Union Military Committee’s informal meeting, the Away Days, under the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The meeting was held upon the invitation of the Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces, General Wiesław Kukuła.

The discussions of the sessions centred around European Defence as well as the EU’s continued support to Ukraine.  

On the same day, Admirals and Generals visited the 1st Warsaw Armoured Brigade 
in Wesoła for a presentation of Polish high-tech military equipment. Guests learned about the "East Shield" multi-year programme, which will be implemented within 2024 and 2028. The programme aims to on prepare and strengthen the defence of the areas close to the northern and eastern flanks of the Polish border.
