On Tuesday 29 of November, EU Delegation to Iraq planted a palm tree and adopted 50 of them in the garden of the National Museum in Baghdad. The Delegation of the European Union tree planting event, held on the occasion of the conclusion of COP27, the 27 th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Changes, was attended by representatives of the Fiji Ministry of Forestry, Civil Society partners and university students.

The situation is deteriorating much faster than we expected few years ago and we already see many concrete effects, both at global and at local level confirming that climate has already changed.” Charlotte Adriaen, Ambassador of the European Union to Uzbekistan.

The event was organized withing the EU funded project on “Climate Change and Resilience in Central Asia” implemented by UNDP and Uzhydromet, aimed at supporting stability and climate resilient development in the Fergana Valley, a transboundary area among the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The presentation of the mural is one of a series of mobility actions organised as part of European Mobility Week, a week dedicated to sustainable urban mobility and healthy way of living for a better urban environment.
