We offer:

A traineeship of up to 6 months within the Cooperation Section of the EU Delegation to India, starting in July 2023.

The Cooperation Section of the Delegation is in charge of identifying, formulating and monitoring the implementation of the cooperation projects and programmes funded by the budget of the European Union and since 2021 the Global Europe – Neighbourhood Development and International Cooperation Instrument (NDICI). These actions are implemented in India, Bhutan and for some of them across South Asia. The section’ Team is also in charge of guiding policy dialogue work with stakeholders, including governments, civil society organisations (including NGOs) as well as the private sector and other development partners. EU-funded projects are implemented by a wide range of partners, from European agencies and financial institutions, International Organisations, NGOs, government agencies or consulting companies. The section, led by the Head of Cooperation, consists of a multi-cultural Team of 12 European and Indians colleagues.

Main tasks:

  • Mapping of EU and EU Member States initiatives on the Global Gateway strategy (https://www.eeas.europa.eu/eeas/global-gateway_en )
  • Preparing a compendium of resources for reference and identifying how EU and EU Member States initiatives contribute to Government of India various policies and missions
  • Contributing to an e-publication on the various Global Gateway clusters
  • Identifying projects that do not have a visibility plan and based on project documents, make recommendations on how visibility can be improved
  • Support the communication and visibility initiatives being undertaken by the Cooperation section, including identifying avenues of improvement, supporting in visibility related project management, monitoring and evaluation,
  • Develop human-centred stories from the different EU and Team Europe-funded actions across India
  • Assist with social media and communication content, as needed.

 

We look for:

Qualifications or special requirements:

Taking into account the local health and security conditions, only Indian citizens and European citizens already residing in India and holding a valid visa and residential permit for the entire foreseen duration of the traineeship will be considered.

  • Bachelor or Master Level education in a relevant field such as International Relations, Development, Political Science and/or Communications or equivalent;
  • Previous related work experience, with knowledge of coordination, reporting or visibility would be considered an asset;
  • Familiarity with the project cycle;
  • Excellent writing and communication skills;
  • Fluency in English is required, Hindi is an asset.
  • Experience in external communication, social media and advocacy is an asset;
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and to manage multiple tasks;
  • Good team spirit and ability to work with diverse profiles.

Important information to read before applying

Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship)

Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travels, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee.

Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidate is not able to present the required documents, his/her candidacy will be rejected.

The traineeships can only be offered in compliance with the local legislation as well as the legislation of the country of origin.

Citizens from EU Member states:

  • must provide proof that they will be covered against the risk of a pandemic and the costs of repatriation;
  • must undertake to apply for a relevant entrance visa and / or temporary residence permit where applicable,  based on the traineeship agreement, the duration of the traineeship, and in compliance with the local legislation.

The Delegation informs that even if our Headquarters confirm the eligibility of the selected candidate, traineeships could be postponed, suspended or even cancelled considering the context of the COVID-19 in the host country as well as in the country of origin where applicable.
