Are you a young graduate interested in international relations? Are you curious to learn more about work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in Mongolia?

 

We offer:

A traineeship of  6 months within the INTPA Section of the EU Delegation to Mongolia, starting in October 2025.

The selected person will support the work of the Head of Delegation section. 

Main tasks: 

  • Support the implementation of EU-funded strategic communication and public diplomacy projects.
  • Prepare concise project overview (one-pager for Coop section) and factsheets on EU-funded projects.
  • Assist in organising the Mongolia-EU Business and Investment Forum.
  • Draft written content including social media posts, press releases, memos, and reports.
  • Support the preparation and coordination of meetings and events, including practical arrangements.
  • Take meeting minutes as required.
  • Contribute to routine administrative tasks such as translations, letter drafting, document filing, visitor reception, and transportation requests.
  • Provide general assistance to the Cooperation Section team, including Programme Managers, on emerging tasks related to their areas of responsibility.

The selected candidate is expected to be open-minded and flexible regarding areas of assignments and tasks.

 

We look for:

Qualifications or special requirements:

  • Taking into account the local health and security conditions, only applicants currently residing in Mongolia will be considered.
  • A diploma in one of the following fields: international relations, international development, European affairs, journalism, communications, project management, or law.
  • Prior experience working on or supporting communication projects or operations.
  • A strong interest in, and preferably prior knowledge of, the EU’s institutional framework and external aids and policies.
  • Interest in, and ideally familiarity with, Mongolia’s development and investment sectors.
  • A good understanding of development cooperation issues.
  • Excellent analytical and drafting skills.
  • Strong communication and organisational abilities.
  • Excellent proficiency in both English and Mongolian.

Important information to read before applying

Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship).

Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travels, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee. 

Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidates are not able to present the required documents, their application will be rejected.

The traineeships can only be offered in compliance with the local legislation as well as the legislation of the country of origin. 

Citizens from EU Member states:

  • must provide proof that they will be covered against the risk of a pandemic and the costs of repatriation;
  • must hold a relevant entrance visa and / or temporary residence permit where applicable,  based on the traineeship agreement, the duration of the traineeship, and in compliance with the local legislation.
