We offer:

Traineeships of up to 6 months within the following sections of the EU Delegation to Peru, starting in July 2023:

  • Traineeship in the Political, Press and Information Section (PPI):

Main tasks:

  • Contribute to political reporting and background notes on specific issues;
  • Draft content for key messages, speeches, fact sheets, press releases, digital media reporting and others;
  • Participate in seminars, meetings and events, followed by reporting;
  • Assist in the organisation of events (Film Festival, etc.,) as necessary.

 

  • Traineeship in the Trade Section (TRADE):

Main tasks:

  • Monitor economic and trade news and legislative developments;
  • Report and do analysis of relevant trade-related issues;
  • Draft content for key messages, speeches, fact sheets, press releases and others;
  • Take part in seminars, meetings and events;
  • Assist in organizing events.

 

  • Traineeship in the Cooperation section (COOP):

Main tasks:

  • Assist the Cooperation section in the rollout and implementation of communication activities.
  • Summarize content on bilateral and cooperation projects to draft communication material, including speeches, fact sheets, digital media reporting and others.
  • Take part in meetings and support cooperation officers in the coordination of communication plans, event organization, and others.
  • Assist in seminars, meetings and events as required.
  • Investigate and compile information on specific topics, key personalities and organizations of interest for the Cooperation Section.
  • Follow-up and analysis of developments in the country;

 

We look for:

Qualifications or special requirements:

  • Taking into account the local health and security conditions, applicants currently residing in Peru (citizens of Peru or EU member states) will only be considered.
  • At least a Bachelor Diploma in a field relevant to one of the traineeship profiles. A Master degree in a relevant field is an asset;
  • Good knowledge or specialisation in Latin America, knowledge of Peruvian political and/or economic context;
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish;
  • Good social media skills and software skills;
  • Ability to draft documents (briefings, reports etc) in English and Spanish (for PPI profile);
  • Knowledge of statistics and data analysis is a strong asset (for Trade Profile);
  • Some knowledge of graphic design is an asset (for Cooperation profile).

Important information to read before applying

Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship)

Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travels, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee.

Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidate is not able to present the required documents, his/her candidacy will be rejected.

The traineeships can only be offered in compliance with the local legislation as well as the legislation of the country of origin.

Citizens from EU Member states:

  • must provide proof that they will be covered against the risk of a pandemic and the costs of repatriation;
  • must hold a relevant entrance visa and / or temporary residence permit where applicable,  based on the traineeship agreement, the duration of the traineeship, and in compliance with the local legislation.

The Delegation informs that even if our Headquarters confirm the eligibility of the selected candidate, traineeships could be postponed, suspended or even cancelled considering the context of the COVID-19 in the host country as well as in the country of origin where applicable.
