Torture is an extreme form of abuse of power. 40 years ago, the international community marked a pivotal moment in the fight for #HumanRights with the adoption of the UN Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (UNCAT). Still, more action is needed to see it implemented in full. On International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, the EU calls for a zero-tolerance policy to torture and other ill-treatment.
