Media advisory: HR/VP Kallas attends EU–India Summit in New Delhi
High Representative/Vice-President (HR/VP), Kaja Kallas, will visit New Delhi, India, from 25 to 27 January.
On Sunday, 25 January, HR/VP Kallas will join the President of the European Council, António Costa, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, for a courtesy call with India’s External Affairs Minister, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, followed by a bilateral meeting with the Minister.
On Monday, 26 January, the HR/VP will attend the Republic Day military parade. She will later meet Indian think tankers and participate in a dialogue with young civil society leaders, entrepreneurs, and students. The HR/VP will then be received by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, in the Presidential Palace.
On Tuesday, 27 January, HR/VP Kallas will hold a meeting with India’s Minister of Defence, Rajnath Singh, and attend the EU–India Summit, during which she will sign the new Security and Defence Partnership with India. In the afternoon, she will speak at a public event at the Ananta Aspen Centre. The visit will conclude with a banquet hosted by President Murmu.
