Media advisory: HR/VP Kallas co-chairs the Union for the Mediterranean Regional Forum and the launch of the Pact for Mediterranean in Barcelona

On 27-28 November, High Representative/Vice-President (HR/VP) Kaja Kallas will be in Barcelona, together with Commissioner for the Mediterranean, Dubravka Šuica, where she will co-chair an event to launch the Pact for the Mediterranean at ministerial level, with EU Member States and Southern Mediterranean partners.

This launch comes on the 30th anniversary of the Barcelona Declaration.

The launch event of the Pact in Barcelona will be followed by the 10th Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) Regional Forum, which will bring together Foreign Ministers from the EU and the Mediterranean region.

The High Representative’s opening remarks at the Pact for the Mediterranean launch event and the opening remarks at the UfM Regional Forum will be broadcast on EBS.  The High Representative will also participate in a joint press conference following the UfM Regional Forum at 13:30, which will be transmitted on EBS.
