The 4th High-level Political Dialogue between the European Union and the Sultanate of Oman was held in Brussels on 15 February.

Based on the Cooperation Arrangement between the European External Action Service (EEAS) and the Sultanate of Oman, signed in September 2018; and the third Political Dialogue in Muscat on 6 June 2022; and building upon the outcome of the second Senior Official Meeting at experts’ level on 8 February 2022; the meeting offered an opportunity to explore ways to further strengthen the EU – Oman bilateral partnership.

The two sides exchanged on regional developments, including Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, the Israel– Hamas war and the two-state solution process, as well as, developments in Syria, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, the Red Sea and Gulf security, in the framework of the EU-GCC cooperation.

The meeting was co-chaired by Deputy Secretary-General of the European External Action Service (EEAS) Enrique Mora and the Undersecretary for Political Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman, Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy.

The next High-Level Political Dialogue will take place in Muscat.
