Republic of Korea: EU–Republic of Korea High-Level Political Dialogue takes place in Seoul
The 9th High-Level Political Dialogue between the European Union (EU) and the Republic of Korea took place on 19 February in Seoul. Together with Ms Chung Eui-Hae, Deputy Minister for Political Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Deputy Secretary General for Political Affairs Olof Skoog, co-chaired the Dialogue.
The discussions covered bilateral relations and key regional and international issues. In an increasingly challenging global context, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their strategic partnership, based on shared values, multilateralism, and the rules-based international order.
The EU and the Republic of Korea underlined their continued close coordination on Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, on the security situation in the Korean Peninsula as well as on developments in Europe and in the Middle East.
Both sides welcomed ongoing cooperation under the EU–Republic of Korea Security and Defence Partnership and agreed to further enhance their practical collaboration.
