Thailand – Cambodia: Statement by the Spokesperson on the latest developments

The recent exchange of fire between Cambodia and Thailand is an escalation in hostilities.

The EU calls on both countries to exercise maximum restraint and return to the Joint Declaration signed on 26 October, and the confidence-building measures set out therein.

The EU stands ready to support measures agreed by both sides aimed at de-escalation, including humanitarian de-mining.
