Venezuela: Meeting of Senior Officials of the International Contact Group

The Senior Officials of the International Contact Group (ICG) met today, through video conference, to take stock of the situation in Venezuela. The Group discussed the political and humanitarian situation in Venezuela, including the Venezuelan-led negotiations within the Mexico Process.

The Group reiterated its objective to contribute to a peaceful democratic solution to the crisis in Venezuela. To that end, the Group will continue mobilising regional and international support for that endeavour and agreed to organize a Ministerial level virtual meeting on 21March 2023.

The International Contact Group brings together Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, the European Union, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Panama, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Uruguay in a common effort to foster support to a peaceful and democratic way out of the crisis, as well as to facilitate access and the increase of humanitarian aid to Venezuela.
