Victory Starts with Training - Training Coordination Conference 2025.

“As we strive to balance predictability with the flexibility required to adapt to changing conditions, we ensure the best possible preparation for our partners in Ukraine.”

Major General Olaf Rohde, Commander MN ST-C

As part of the European Union Military Assistance Mission in support of Ukraine (EUMAM UA), the Multinational Special Training Command (MN ST-C) plays a key role in coordinating training support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on German soil. This effort strengthens the resilience of Ukraine’s defence against ongoing Russian aggression and requires both foresight and adaptability in planning.

To achieve this, MN ST-C hosted the Training Coordination Conference (TCC) 2025, bringing together more than 100 representatives from 15 nations. The central goal: to develop a comprehensive training plan for 2026. The plan will be shaped by the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ operational experience, reconstitution requirements, and lessons identified from ongoing operations.

Participants included members of the German Bundeswehr, who will provide many of the trainers, as well as senior officials from national defense forces and governmental authorities. The Combined Arms Training Command (CAT-C), MN ST-C`s sister command in Poland, and the NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine (NSATU) in Wiesbaden, Germany, were also represented, alongside the German Ministry of Defence. Furthermore, the Military Planning and Conduct Capability (MPCC), which directs the EU’s non-executive military missions and commands EUMAM UA, attended the event to provide strategic oversight.

The conference underscored the importance of multinational cooperation and practical, sustainable planning. By integrating lessons learned and best practices, the TCC ensures that training programs remain realistic, effective, and adaptable to the evolving needs of Ukraine’s defense.

Brigadier General Maurice Timmermans, MN ST-C´s Deputy Commander closed the event with a forward-looking message:

“Through our shared commitment and multinational effort, we build not only strong training frameworks but also a strong signal of solidarity. This is how we contribute to Ukraine’s resilience – together.”
