International Day of Indigenous Peoples: Celebrating Bolivia’s Heritage and Participation in Democracy
From the EU Election Observation Mission Bolivia 2025, we join the global commemoration of the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples—celebrated every 9 August to honor the history, cultures, and rights of Indigenous communities across the planet. In recognition of the day’s spirit, and in solidarity with Indigenous peoples in Bolivia and beyond, we share this video as a tribute to their resilience, heritage, and invaluable contribution to our shared humanity.
This date, proclaimed by the United Nations in 1994, marks the anniversary of the first meeting of the UN Working Group on Indigenous Populations in 1982. In recognition of the day’s spirit, and in solidarity with Indigenous peoples in Bolivia and beyond, we share this video as a tribute to their resilience, heritage, and invaluable contribution to our shared humanity.
