MEDIA MONITORING CHARTS EU EOM COLOMBIA 2022 1 st ROUND PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS

Monitoring period: from 20 April to 28 May 2022 The EU EOM monitored all election-related information broadcast and published by 12 national media outlets in order to assess whether political parties and candidates had free and equitable access to the media and whether the information provided to the citizens was presented in a neutral and balanced way.

The sample included public media Señal Colombia and Radio Nacional de Colombia, and private media Canal 1, Caracol TV, RCN TV, Caracol Radio, RCN Radio, La W, La FM, Blu Radio, El Tiempo and El Espectador. For radio and TV stations, prime time news programmes and main news bulletins aired from 5am to 11:30pm were monitored.
