10,000 Passenger Crossings Through Rafah with EU Support

Today, the Rafah Crossing Point has reached an important milestone: 10,128 passenger crossings since operations resumed on 2 February 2026.

Over this period, 4,929 passengers entered Gaza and 5,199 exited to Egypt, including 1,858 people requiring medical treatment. 

Rafah is more than just a crossing. It is a gateway for people seeking medical care and a chance for families to come together again. The Mission monitors operations, supports Palestinian border officials and works with all parties so that people can travel safely and with dignity.

EU Civilian  Operations Commander Stefano Tomat said : 

EU engagement in Gaza, through the deployment of the civilian operation EUBAM, is a practical demonstration of its commitment to ongoing peace efforts in the region. I commend EUBAM Rafah personnel for their dedication in a highly  challenging environment.

EUBAM Rafah’s work at the crossing is part of the EU’s support for the Gaza Peace Plan, endorsed by UN Security Council Resolution 2803 (2025). The EU will continue working with the parties and international partners to support peace, stability and recovery in Gaza.
