Spring 1794, Poland is in turmoil. General Tadeusz ‘Kos’ Kościuszko returns to the country, planning to ignite an uprising against the Russians by mobilizing both the Polish nobility and the peasantry. He is accompanied by his loyal friend and former slave, Domingo. Hot on Kościuszko’s trail is the ruthless Russian cavalry captain Dunin, who is determined to capture the general at any cost before he can spark a national rebellion.
SCARBORN is a razor-sharp, thrilling and modern film - a universal tale packed with fast-paced action and emotion - about people who, in the name of freedom and equality, overcame their mutual prejudices and the differences that divided them.
‘The film combines elements of Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds and Django, perverse tales of emancipation dressed in a historical costume, with the intellectual heritage of Witold Gombrowicz and Andrzej Munk, the chief anti-romantic of Polish cinema.’ (Culture.pl)
