In the early decades of the 20th century, thousands of people with intellectual disabilities in Sweden were confined to institutions and subjected to experiments in the name of science. This documentary follows two women - Emma and Ida - as they set out to uncover fragments of memory from that dark era. A journey to confront a forgotten chapter of history, and to ask the question: what if it had been any of us?
