Eva Palatova is a European Union diplomat with more than 20 years of experience in EU affairs.

Since the spring of 2023, as Deputy Head of the European Union in Kosovo, she has overseen a team of nearly 140 staff serving both the European Union’s work on Kosovo’s EU integration, support for reforms and the implementation of EU financial assistance, as well as the mandate of the EU Special Representative, which promotes a stable, peaceful, democratic and multi-ethnic Kosovo.

Since April 2026, Eva Palatova has been serving as Head of the European Union in Kosovo ad interim. In this capacity, she provides strategic advice to Kosovo institutions on EU integration, coordinates closely with EU Member States and EULEX, and is responsible for the overall political direction and management of the European Union in Kosovo.

Earlier in her EU career, as a Policy Adviser to the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs, she was responsible for drafting and negotiating enlargement progress reports covering the Western Balkans and Türkiye, worked on the ratification of the EU–Ukraine Association Agreement, and participated in the inter-institutional negotiations that led to the establishment of the European External Action Service (EEAS). She served as European Parliament’s Liaison Officer to the US Congress and was heading the Political Section at the EU Delegation in Ottawa.

Eva Palatova holds an MA in Political Science and International Relations from Charles University in Prague.
