Inauguration by Segen Artist Group

43 students recently graduated in in drawing, painting and sculpture after a two years training organised by Segen Artist Group. The students carried out the art programme along with their academic studies. The young and energetic debuting artists received their certificates from Ambassador Zemede Tekle, Commissioner of Sports and Culture.

The two year project was co-funded by the European Union and implemented by the Segen Artist Group.  

Ambassador Christian Manahl, Head of Delegation of the European Union to the State of Eritrea expressed delight at the European Union being part of such projects, as he congratulated the young graduates for their fruitful hard work.

Segen Eritrean Artists Group (SEAG) was officially established in January 1998, by artists with similar experience. The group particularly aims a sure hand in the development of Eritrean art while promoting it to the international level. Since 2001, the group, with the support of governmental and non-governmental organizations, has offered art training to over 1500 children and youth.

The awarding ceremony of the young artists took place on October 7th 2016, in the SEAG grounds.
