The EU-funded ‘ENI CBC MED Programme’ launches an information event on new financing opportunities

The ENI CBC MED 2014-2020 programme is succeeding the ENPI CBC MED 2007-2013. This Programme aims to open new horizons and promote dialogue and cooperation between Mediterranean countries, and fund projects in various fields to achieve economic and social development and environmental protection. Under the first generation of the Programme, 39 Egyptian organizations participated in 29 projects for a total EU funding of €11 million. Projects have been implemented in fields such as sustainable tourism, SMEs development, water and energy efficiency, waste management, technological transfer, social inclusion.

The EU-funded ‘ENI CBC MED Programme’ launches an information event on new financing opportunities

Cairo— Funded by the European Union (EU), the ENI CBC MED “Mediterranean Sea Basin” Programme, in partnership with the Ministry of International Cooperation, is holding an information event to raise the awareness of potential beneficiaries and partners on the opportunities offered by the ENI CBC Med Programme, the multilateral initiative for cross-border cooperation (CBC) in the Mediterranean area. The Programme has a budget of €209 million and is funded by the European Union under the European Neighborhood Instrument (ENI).

The ENI CBC MED 2014-2020 programme is succeeding the ENPI CBC MED 2007-2013. This Programme aims to open new horizons and promote dialogue and cooperation between Mediterranean countries, and fund projects in various fields to achieve economic and social development and environmental protection. The event will be attended by Mr. Diego Escalona Paturel, Head of Cooperation, EU Delegation to Egypt, Mrs. Dalia Salem, Head of European Cooperation sector from the Ministry of International Cooperation will give an opening speech for the event and H.E. Ambassador Raouf Saad, Chairman of the National Bureau for the Implementation of EU-Egypt Association Agreement, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Dr. Esmat AlKaradsheh, Coordinator of the Programme’s Branch office for the Eastern Mediterranean will take part of the opening session.
