On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (25 Nov), the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence (25 Nov - 10 Dec) and Human Rights Day (10 Dec), the EU Delegation and UN Women Indonesia are proud to present:

Six Days: Three Women, Three Wars, One Dream is a documentary film by director Nikolina Gillgren, which follows three human rights activists in Liberia, Iraq and Georgia over six days. It provides insight into the fight for change in the wake of war and conflict.

Women’s rights defenders Lanja Abdulla, from the Kurdistan region of Iraq, Nelly Cooper from Liberia and Maia Kvaratskhelia from the breakaway region of Abkhazia in Georgia are the main characters in Six Days.

The film screening will be followed by a discussion with speakers:

  • Irine Gayatri, Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI)
  • Adriana Venny, National Commission on Violence Against Women (Komnas Perempuan)
