For over 25 years, Europe has funded the Erasmus programme, which has enabled over 3 million European students to spend part of their studies in other higher education institution elsewhere in Europe. Erasmus+ now opens up these opportunities to individuals and organisations from other parts of the world including Ghana.

Text

Erasmus+ is the European Union (EU) programme which supports projects, partnerships, events and mobility in the areas of education, training, youth and sport. It is managed by the European Commission (the EU's executive body), the Education, Audiovisual, and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), a series of National Agencies in Programme countries, and a series of National Offices in Partner countries.

More than 20 Ghanaian students participated in the Erasmus+ programme last year (2015). Students from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), University of Ghana (UG), University of Cape Coast, and others managed to get the opportunity to go study in several European countries, among them Norway, Spain, Italy and France.

The video is prepared by the Delegation of European Union to Ghana to present the Erasmus+ programme and the opportunities for Ghanaian students following a sensitisation seminar for students of the students of the University of Ghana.

It records the expectations of some potential students  and the experiences of an alumnus
