EU Election Observation Mission to Haiti in 2015

The mission, which comprised a core team, long-term observers and short-term observers from EU Member States, was led by Elena Valenciano, a Member of the European Parliament from Spain. The observers were deployed throughout the country and interacted with electoral officials, candidates, political parties, civil society representatives, the media and Haitian voters.

Their mandate was to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the electoral process and to verify its compliance with domestic laws and regional and international commitments for democratic elections to which Haiti has subscribed.
