Tbilisi celebrates Europe Day!

Held under the theme of "Celebrating New Opportunities" this year's event highlighted the possibility of visa free travel for Georgians to the EU as well as let them find out more about the EU and its Member countries.
Celebrations were formally opened by Georgian President of Giorgi Margvelashvili, EU Ambassador to Georgia Janos Herman, and State Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Viktor Dolidze.
"Today, we are celebrating the new opportunities that have emerged between the EU and Georgia - new opportunities for Georgians to travel without visas, to study, and to establishes businesses" –said EU Ambassador to Georgia Janos Herman in his speech.
From 12-18 visitors could visit the 'eurovillage', composed of over 20 stands of EU countries, programmes and partners, each offering a unique set of games and informational activities. A daytime cultural programme took place with performers from Bulgaria, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Czech Republic, Poland and Lithiuania.
The event was closed with a gala concert featuring German jazz band Jazzanova and Georgian group Mgzavrebi.
The events were organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Georgia, along with the EU member states' embassies and other partners in Georgia.
