Representatives of European Union´s Directorate-General for the Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW) visited Mexico from 24 to 26 May 2017 to present GALILEO, a global satellite navigation system developed by the European Union together with the European Space Agency; As well as EGNOS, a European satellite system that improves GPS accuracy.

Because Mexico is a close partner to the EU in the international arena, they met with various Mexican government agencies, including the Mexican Space Agency, to present the possibilities offered by Galileo's Initial Services and their respective applications, as well as to explore the possibilities for inter-institutional cooperation. A seminar was also held for industry representatives to publicize these services and demonstrate the positive impact they have on many services and users both in Europe and in the rest of the world.
