Chief Observer Marietje Schaake presented the Preliminary Statement of the EU EOM Kenya 2017 in Nairobi, two days after the country's general elections.

The Chief Observer of the EU EOM Kenya 2017, Marietje Schaake, Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from the Netherlands, presented the mission's Preliminary Statement to journalists in Nairobi shortly after the country's general elections on 8 August. She highlighted the "Democratic commitment demonstrated by the people of Kenya, despite parties’ forceful criticism of key institutions."
