The EU Delegation strongly condemns attack on Shamshad TV

The terrorist attack conducted today against Shamshad TV resulted in the death of 2 security workers including one woman and 20 were injured.

The EU Delegation presents its condolences to the families of the victims and its sincere wishes of recovery to those who were injured. It condemns in the strongest possible terms this vile aggression against freedom of media.

“I have no doubt that despite this new attack, journalists of Afghanistan will continue to perform with pride their noble mission. They have all our support.” said Ambassador Pierre Mayaudon, the Head of the EU Delegation in Kabul.

This assault occurred just a few days after the “International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists”. The EU Delegation urges Afghan authorities to spare no efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice.
