Curtain lifts on EU Film Festival season in Canada

The Delegation of the European Union to Canada and the Embassies of EU Member States, in partnership with the Canadian Film Institute and the Cinematheque, are proud to unveil the 2017 season of the highly-anticipated EU Film Festival.

This year's edition of EUFF features films from 26 European Union Member States, each being shown for the very first time.

Ottawa’s 32nd annual EU Film Festival begins on 17 November and runs until 5 December at the National Gallery of Canada, in collaboration with the Canadian Film Institute. The Vancouver edition gets underway on 24 November through 4 December at the Cinematheque.

“This year 26 films will bring you stories from across the European Union and will show in a real and unique way how diverse we are,” said Peteris Ustubs, European Union Ambassador to Canada. “We have built a unique European cinema tradition in thanks to our colleagues at the Diplomatic Missions of EU Member States, our friends at the Canadian film institutes and our dedicated Canadian fans. "

EUROPE WITHOUT THE JETLAG! Now celebrating its 20th year, The Cinematheque’s annual showcase of new cinema from the European Union is proudly presented with the Vancouver consulates and the Ottawa embassies of the member states of the European Union and the Delegation of the European Union to Canada. This year’s festival features entries from 25 EU members.
