The European Union through its election observation mission (EOM) has donated to eight organizations, all the equipment and assets that supported the EU Election Observation Mission (EOM). The donation was made during an event organized in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM). Beneficiaries of the donation include the National Teachers Association of Liberia (NTAL), Me and My People Charity Inc. from West Point Township, Kids Educational Engagement Project (KEEP), the Liberian Translation and Literacy Organization (LIBTRALO), KRITERION MONROVIA, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Handicap International and Sight Savers.

All equipment will be put to good use through innovative activities such as a new social enterprise cinema arthouse run by university students to be opened by KRITERION MONROVIA in 2018, free computer literacy courses for children and youth in West Point offered by Me and My People Charity Inc. and in reading rooms established by KEEP in rural communities in Liberia. The donation made will also support important work by LIBTRALO to ensure the preservation of local languages of the 16 tribes and will also serve as start up support to the NTAL new head office in Monrovia and its regional offices, among others.

The EU in partnership with IOM selected 8 beneficiary organizations based on their work in the interest of the public good in crucial areas including education, youth development, health and the preservation of cultural heritage.
