New Life for old tech – repurposed Delegation computers put to good use in Nigerian primary schools.

The EU Delegation to the UK, has embarked on a recycling scheme with a network of schools in the Nigerian states of Ogun and Imo. Through a connection established by Sina Oduko on contract services to the Delegation team, computer equipment that was no longer in use by the Delegation has been successfully donated to schools in order to facilitate access to an offline electronic library (by Sysdigit Communications) of over 20,000 books and over 10,000 educational videos.
The Delegation’s previous donation of similar equipment, made in collaboration with doctors from Leicester Children's Hospital and assistance from the Little Hearts Healing charity, has been re- purposed for the use of telemedicine at the Olabisi Onabanjo University teaching hospital in the state of Ogun in Nigeria. This collaboration has proved a resounding success with over 300 procedures already performed. Moving forward the hospital expects telemedicine to tremendously improve healthcare delivery especially in the rural areas
