Are you ready to experience Europe’s breath-taking natural scenery and historied cultural heritage? For its romance and passion to move you?

2018 is the EU-China Tourism Year. This year, the EU wants to send you on a deluxe two-person tour!

We will cover the costs for airplane tickets, hotel accommodations, and an experienced traveller to accompany you and guide you through a first-hand tour of Europe’s landscape, culture, and food.

Game Rules

From March to September 2018, the 28 Member States of the EU will hold weekly contests in turn.

Each weekly contest will select two winners: one from that week’s photography contest and one from that week’s cultural knowledge contest. The two winners will be awarded prizes provided by the Member States as well as a chance to win a lucky draw for the grand prize of travelling to Europe.

Thus, the chance of winning the Grand Prize by winning a single photography or cultural knowledge contest is 1/56!

Lucky draw chances can be accumulated, as you are entered into the lucky draw once for every photo or cultural knowledge competition which you win.

If you win two or more photography or cultural knowledge contests, the chance of winning the Grand Prize becomes 1/28 or less!

Photo Contest Rules

Submit a photo according to requirements during the week of the Member State’s contest. The winner will be awarded a special prize from the Member State as well as a chance to win the grand prize of travelling to Europe.

Photos can be about the societies and cultures of EU Member States, or about the Member States’ beautiful landscapes, wildlife, and natural environment.

But the content of the photos is not limited to things within the Member States’ borders! Photos can also be about cultural experiences related to the Member State of the event week. For example, they can be about an event on the culture of the Member State; an art exhibit from the Member State; making the cuisine of the Member State; a performance of a playwright from the Member State; engaging in the traditional sports of the Member State; or an exhibit of authors from the Member State. We welcome any creative ways of experiencing the Member State’s culture.

Be creative! Capture visually compelling and inspiring moments. Express your thoughts through pictures.

Photo Contribution Rules

Photo requirements: Photos must be related to the Member State hosting the contest and be accompanied by an explanation of more than 20 words detailing the inspiration for the photo.

Ways of Contributing:

1. Send the photo and explanation through the WeChat Public Account chat window. Include [name of the Member State] + [your name] + [phone number] + [WeChat account number].

1. Send the photo and explanation through email in a zipped file. Title your email [name of the Member State] + [your name] + [phone number] + [WeChat account number], and send it to experienceeurope@outlook.com.

Selection Rules:

The winning photo each week will be selected by embassy staff from the Member State or special guest judges.

Contributing a photo authorises #ExperienceEurope to use that photo for any and all promotional purposes.

Cultural Knowledge Contest Rules

Submit your answers in the comment section accordingly. Member State embassy staff will select the winners. The winners will be awarded a special prize from the Member State as well as a lucky draw chance at the Grand Prize of travelling Europe.

The organisers of #ExperienceEurope have final say on all matters regarding the 2018 Grand Photo Contest.
