Second EU-NATO Structured Dialogue on Cyber
In the current geopolitical climate with a rapidly evolving digital landscape, malicious cyber activities pose significant challenges to the security and stability of our societies. By leveraging the combined expertise and capabilities of our organisations, this Structured Dialogue aims to strengthen EU-NATO cooperation on cybersecurity and cyber defence. In particular, the two organisations discussed recent initiatives that aim to enhance the ability to detect, deter and defend against malicious cyber activities.
In addition, the dialogue covered topics related to enhancing cyber resilience and preparedness, as well as mitigation and response to cyber threats, including cyber defence policy frameworks and cyber crisis management. It further highlighted the added value of exercises and scenario-based discussions to increase mutual understanding of respective tools and practices to counter emerging cyber threats.
The EU and NATO remain dedicated to protecting our citizens, economies, and values through coordinated and complementary responses to cyber threats. By reinforcing this partnership, we can better safeguard our digital future and advance our shared objectives to build a robust cyber defence - ensuring the safety and prosperity of Member States and Allies.
The EU and NATO staff reaffirmed their commitment to continue working together on enhancing shared situational awareness and strengthening tools and capabilities to prevent, deter and respond to cyber threats.
The next meeting will be held in 2026.
