Saving Lives Under Fire: CAT-C Advances Combat Medic Training
The new year brings new challenges, which is why the CAT-C Command of EUMAM UA is continuing the Ukrainian Armed Forces' training mission in Poland. The coming months will be marked by innovation, the use of modern technologies, and even closer international cooperation. CAT-C's activities to date have been unanimously recognized by the authorities and the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The effectiveness of the training is confirmed by the ever-increasing cooperation and the high quality ratings of the courses provided by CAT-C liaison officers from the Ukrainian General Staff. These officers continuously monitor the implementation of training programs and the progress achieved by participants.
One of several courses that has just begun is the training of combat medics, which is based on wartime experience and Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) standards. The most important element of the training remains the teaching of life-saving methods and skills in high-threat situations. The training emphasizes realism, achieved through the use of appropriate scenarios and advanced medical simulators.

EUMAM works closely together with all other like-minded international partners to provide training support to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. EUMAM is open to the participation of third states. All mission activities are located on EU soil. So far, 24 EU Member States have offered training modules and personnel. The training is supported by the provision of equipment for lethal and non-lethal purposes to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This equipment is provided by Member States and funded by the European Peace Facility.
