Call for Nominations – European of the Year Award 2026

The European Union in Kosovo is pleased to invite the public, institutions, outstanding individuals, civil society organizations, universities, professional associations, and media outlets in Kosovo to submit nominations for the European of the Year Award 2026.

This award recognizes exceptional contributions to Kosovo's European Integration over the past year in the following areas:

• EU-related reforms
• Rule of Law and Human Rights
• Economic Development and Job Creation
• Promotion of Non-Majority Community Rights and Interethnic Cooperation
• Education and Environmental Protection
• Freedom of Expression and Professional Journalism
• Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment

We encourage nominations for individuals or institutions whose work has had a significant, tangible impact in these areas, reflecting European values and contributing meaningfully to Kosovo’s democratic and social development.

This award serves as an opportunity to recognize and celebrate those who are making a real difference in advancing Kosovo on its path to European Union integration.
