Funded traineeship for young graduates at the EU Delegation to Mongolia
Are you a young graduate interested in international relations? Are you curious to learn more about work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation to Mongolia represents EU interests and values in Mongolia ?
We offer:
Traineeship of up to 6 months in 2026 within the following section of the EU Delegation. The tentative start date is in June or July 2026.
- Traineeship in the Political, Press and Information Section (PPI):
Main tasks:
- Support the PPI and Cooperation sections in the organisation, preparation and implementation of EU communication, strategic communication and public diplomacy activities, in particular on issues related to youth and EU-funded projects, and propose new activities;
- Update and maintain concise project overview (one-pager for Coop section) and factsheets on EU-funded projects
- Draft written content, such as social media posts, press releases, memos, reports, etc.
- Assist in the preparation of meetings and events with practical arrangements, and take meeting minutes as required
- Assist in the preparation of the weekly press review and the weekly political updates by monitoring daily incoming news and information.
- Assist the PPI and Cooperation sections if/when needed for the participation to the COP17
- Contribute to administrative tasks as required, i.e. translations, letters, filing, delivery of letters to external parties and similar
- Help the Head of Political, Press and Information Section as well as colleagues from the PPI and Cooperation sections with other emerging tasks in their fields of responsibility
We look for:
Qualifications or special requirements:
- University degree in political sciences, linguistics, business administration, social studies, international relations, international development, European affairs, journalism, communications, project management, law, Public Financial Management/economics, agriculture, forestry, renewable energy or similar discipline for PPI section;
- Good analytical skills and capacity to formulate these in a structured manner;
- Ability and willingness to work in an international environment;
- Ability to deliver good quality work output in tight deadlines;
- Computer literate with practical experience in Microsoft packages;
- Excellent English and Mongolian language skills;
- Initiative, flexibility, good organisational skills and a team player is an advantage.
- Candidates must have less than one year of professional experience after their graduation by the signing of the Traineeship agreement. (other traineeship or student jobs or volunteering works carried out during university or after graduation are not considered as professional experience)

Important information to read before applying
Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship).
Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travels, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee.
Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidates are not able to present the required documents, their application will be rejected.
The traineeships can only be offered in compliance with the local legislation as well as the legislation of the country of origin.
Citizens from EU Member states:

must provide proof that they will be covered against the risk of a pandemic and the costs of repatriation;

must hold a relevant entrance visa and / or temporary residence permit where applicable, based on the traineeship agreement, the duration of the traineeship, and in compliance with the local legislation.
