Programme of support for enhanced security in the Mopti and Gao regions and for the management of border areas (PARSEC Mopti-Gao)
The specific objectives are:
(1) to improve the security of the population and the control of the territory while respecting the rule of law and
(2) to strengthen and develop the management of border areas by government departments, including the management of flows of people and goods as well as cross-border cooperation (Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger).
This project was launched on Friday 3 March, 2017, and is part of the Programme of support for enhanced security in the Mopti and Gao regions and for the management of border areas (PARSEC Mopti-Gao)
Expected results
The Malian security forces are specialized and professional, the security of the population and the control of the territory in the regions of Mopti and Gao, along the road and the river axis, are improved.
Border management arrangements are being put in place on the border area from Koro to Labbezanga and cross-border operational cooperation is strengthened. Inter-service forces record reliable and usable information by the political and administrative authorities on the flows of goods and people.
