Accessing Justice for Victims of Gender Based Violence in Kosovo: Ending Impunity for Perpetrators

Gender-based violence remains widespread both in Kosovo and worldwide. While its incidence
rates remain alarmingly high, impacting one in every three women globally, adequate response
remains limited in Kosovo. This policy report intends to narrow the existing knowledge gap by
providing a concrete analysis of the existing laws and policies and their practical implementation.
Concretely, the research focuses on access for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, sexual
harassment and harassment on the basis of sexual identity (LGBT) within the existing criminal
justice processes, including analysis of the institutional support and proper legal recourse.
