EU, South Korean Presidential Committee on 4th Industrial Revolution hold 'EU-Korea 4th Industrial Revolution Seminar'

On 16th April, the European Union (EU) and the Presidential Committee on the 4th Industrial Revolution (PC) jointly held the 'EU-Korea 4th Industrial Revolution Seminar'. Approximately 25 experts including Science & Technology Counsellors from 15 European countries and Presidential Committee members took part in the seminar to share major national policies and promote strategies on the 4th Industrial Revolution. The participants had an in-depth discussion on ways to mutually cooperate.
From the EU side, the three Member States spearheading Industry 4.0 and innovation, namely Germany, the Netherlands, and Spain each gave presentations. Next a presentation was given from the Korean side by Mr. Jean Koh, Committee Member of the PC and President of the Korea Mobile Internet Business Association, on the key policies and status of the 4th Industrial Revolution. Through the presentations, both sides were able to confirm that their common interests were not only in the technological development leading the 4th Industrial Revolution, but also in its impact on mankind. The participants recognised the positive roles of technologies and their negative influences in the 4th Industrial Revolution era, and agreed that it is necessary to join forces to seek a direction for both development and solutions.
