Safe & Fair: "Realizing women migrant workers’ rights and opportunities in the ASEAN region" is part of the multi-year EU-UN Spotlight Initiative to Eliminate Violence against Women and Girls.

 

Safe & Fair is implemented by the International Labour organisation (ILO) and UN Women, in coordination with the Spotlight Initiative’s Secretariat based in New York. Safe & Fair works in close cooperation with regional ASEAN bodies, national governments and institutions as well as the private sector, social partners and civil society.

 

The overall objective: Labour migration is safe and fair for all women in the ASEAN region

 

Specific objectives (SO):

  • SO1: Women migrant workers are better protected by gender-sensitive labour migration governance framework
  • SO2: Women migrant workers are less vulnerable to violence and trafficking and benefit form coordinated responsive quality services
  • SO3: Data, knowledge and attitude on the rights and contributions of women migrant workers are improved
