Justice Locked Out: Fact-Finding Mission Report into the rule of law cris in Swaziland
The report reflects the outcome of the an international fact-finding mission to Swaziland convened by the ICJ in collaboration with the Africa Judges and Jurists Forum (AJJF), Judges for Judges Netherlands (J4J) and the Commonwealth Magistrates and Judges Association (CMJA).
The mission, supported by the EU through the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR), was undertaken following the attempted arrest and impeachment in 2015 of former Chief justice, Michael Ramodibedi, and the arrest of the then Minister of Justice as well as two High Court judges and a High Court Registrar.
The mission report makes a number of findings and recommendations which were well received and appreciated by those who attend the launch at Sibane Hotel at Ezulwini. EU Ambassador to Swaziland, Nicola Bellomo, was among those who attended the launch of the report.
