Description: The overall objective of the National Solid Waste Management Programme is to make a significant contribution to sustainable protection of the environment, to protect natural resources and to reduce health risks for the population of Egypt. The specific objective of the NSWMP is to support the establishment and implementation of effective policy, legislation and institutional arrangements for waste management at the national, governorate and local level in Egypt, coupled with infrastructure implementation in the project regions (Qena, Kafr El Sheikh, Assuit and Gharbeya).
