Welcome Message from the Ambassador
It is a great pleasure to personally welcome you to the website of the Delegation of the European Union to Sudan.
I am honoured to be entrusted with the important task of representing the European Union to the Republic of Sudan based in Cairo during this unfortunate time of war and ongoing humanitarian crisis in Sudan. My team and I will strive to maintain and further develop the strong and long-standing relationship between Sudan and the European Union and to ensure that the people of Sudan are not forgotten or left behind at this time of uncertainty and intensity.
Over the years, particularly since the beginning of the war in Sudan in 2023, the European Union has played a crucial role in supporting the Sudanese people. Both the people in Europe, and the European Union and its Member States stand committed with their Sudanese partners to assist Sudan in its efforts to end the war, reach a permanent ceasefire, implement development assistance, boost humanitarian aid and work with the regional and international partners to make the people of Sudan reach their aspiration of peace, justice and freedoms.
My team’s and my objective is the promotion of dialogue with all the streams of the Sudanese people most importantly the young generation that represents the future of Sudan and the women of Sudan who represent half of its community. Our aim is to promote both humanitarian and development projects between Sudan and the European Union that will save lives, and create concrete opportunities in the areas of food security, education, health, capacity building and climate change.
To the European Union, Sudan is a rich country in natural and human resources, in history and diverse ethos which is a mix of Arab, African, Islam, Christian and African cultures. Sudan geostrategic location on the Red Sea, and in Africa makes our interests certain and our commitment is beyond no doubt. Also, we as Europeans acknowledge the strong community of Sudanese who live in European countries who are productive, influential and successful members of the European Union.
I invite you to scroll the pages of this website. You will find news and information on the European Union, its relationship with Sudan, on our cooperation projects and many other activities.
