Call for Proposals EU4CAET Grant Facility – Financing Window Call No. 1
EU4CAET Grant Facility announces its first Call for Proposals, aiming to support community-led sustainable energy projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Call is open to municipalities, cities, energy communities and community-led partnerships that actively contribute to the energy transition through concrete, technically prepared investments.
The Grant Facility is part of the EU4CAET project, co-financed by the European Union and the Federal Republic of Germany, and implemented with the technical and financial support of GIZ. The Financing Window of the Facility is managed by the Centre for Development and Support (CRP) in the role of Fund Manager.
Objective of the Call
The objective of this Call is to identify and financially support the first group of high-quality projects that:
a. increase renewable energy production and/or energy efficiency in public infrastructure,
b. contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and improvement of air quality,
c. strengthen institutional and technical capacities of local communities,
d. encourage active participation of citizens and the private sector in the energy transition.
The Call targets projects that are fully ready for implementation, with completed technical documentation and all required permits in place.
What is financed?
The EU4CAET Grant Facility provides non-repayable grants to co-finance investments in the following technologies:
a. solar photovoltaic systems,
b. biomass heating systems,
c. heat pumps,
d. electric vehicle charging infrastructure,
e. energy-efficient public lighting.
Grants cover the costs of procurement, installation, and commissioning of equipment, as well as associated construction and installation works directly linked to the investment.
Financial framework
- Grants cover 50% to 80% of eligible project costs;
- Maximum grant amounts:
- - up to EUR 99.999 per project,
- - up to EUR 170.000 for projects developed with support from the Grant Facility’s Technical Assistance Unit.
Who can apply?
Eligible applicants include:
- - municipalities and cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina,
- - partnerships involving municipalities/cities and energy communities, citizens, the private sector, or civil society organisations.
All projects must be implemented within the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina and in compliance with applicable legislation.
How to apply?
Project proposals must be submitted using the Project Proposal Form, together with mandatory technical, financial, and legal documentation, in accordance with the Guidelines for Applicants.

30 March 2026, by 16:00
