Students Mark ErasmusDays at Europe House

Europe House, in cooperation with the Erasmus Student Network (ESN), hosted international Erasmus+ students currently studying in Bosnia and Herzegovina and local students interested in exchange opportunities. The event was organised as part of ErasmusDays, the worldwide campaign celebrating the programme and raising awareness of the opportunities it offers.

International students shared their first impressions of life and studies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, from the hospitality they received to the history and diversity they are discovering. Local students, in turn, had the chance to ask them directly about their experiences and to learn how to apply for an Erasmus+ exchange themselves.

“Erasmus+ is far more than an academic exchange. It is about lifelong friendships, new perspectives, and realising that, across our continent, our great diversity is matched by a shared history and deep cross-border ties. Europe isn’t built only by institutions; it is built by young people who study, travel, debate, and grow together,” said Ferdinand Koenig, Head of Communications/Spokesperson at the EU in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bosnia and Herzegovina continues to take an active part in Erasmus+, the European Union’s flagship programme for education, training, youth and sport. Its participation has grown significantly over the years, with an increasing number of international students choosing BiH as their destination and thousands of local students already having studied abroad through the programme. ErasmusDays, held every October across Europe and beyond, show that the programme is above all a community of people who crossed borders to learn from one another. For students in Bosnia and Herzegovina, each exchange is also a chance to experience Europe first-hand and to bring new knowledge, ideas and friendships back home.
