The European Union’s public cycling event ‘Pedal for the Planet, Cycle for Tomorrow’ is back for a third edition

The European Union Delegation to Cambodia is gearing up for the third edition of its major public cycling event “Pedal for the Planet, Cycle for Tomorrow" which will take place on Sunday, 30 November 2026. The initiative aims to raise awareness about the environmental benefits of cycling, promote sustainable urban development, and underscore the EU's commitment to global climate action and the Green Deal.

The event is organized in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, Ministry of Environment and the Phnom Pehn Municipality. Open to all members of the public, the route is designed to bring communities together to promote greener cities. The course will start and finish at Coconut Park Koh Norea, cycling 11 kilometres through the capital. 

H.E. Igor Driesmans, EU Ambassador to Cambodia, emphasized the collective spirit of the event. "Cycling is a simple yet powerful climate action. “Pedal for the Planet, Cycle for Tomorrow” is our collective promise to build greener, healthier cities and secure a sustainable future for everyone. We invite all citizens and communities to join us. This event reflects the values of the EU's Global Gateway strategy, where environmental stewardship is essential”.


The event features more than just cycling; it offers a community celebration complete with music, snacks, and engaging family activities including for children
