Advanced Framework Agreement EU-Chile

In December 2023, Chile became the first country in the region to sign a new-generation agreement with the EU, the Advanced Framework Agreement (AFA), a modern and ambitious agreement that updates the 2002 Association Agreement. This new state-of-the-art agreement addresses the challenges of our time, strengthening political dialogue, trade, investment and cooperation in key areas such as innovation, climate change, gender, digitalization and social cohesion.
